IDS DISTRIBUTES FOOD AND NON-ITEMS TO IDPs IN BORNO STATE

In response to the humanitarian crisis in Borno State, Northeast Nigeria IDS with funding and technical support from Street Child of Nigeria and the Nigeria Humanitarian (NHF) and Too Young to Wed (TYTW) through Right to Care (R2C) intervention project has procured and distribute food and non-food to over 7,000 vulnerable IDPs, host community and returnees in Biu and Hawul LGAs of the State. The activities involve were community identification and registration of caregivers using vulnerability index for beneficiary selection. Vulnerable care givers with unaccompanied and separated children and other protection concerns are the criteria’s use selection. Items Distributed include the following: Matrasses, Blanket, slippers, Mosquito net, and Detergent, Others are bathing soup, maize, millet, corn, rice, charcoal, local stove, cooking spoon, knife and cups.
