Shamsiya Hussaini is 10years old, she hails from Damchoba Community of Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State. Her parents were affected by the impact of insurgency which denied her the opportunity to attend formal School.

She is among the lucky Out of School Children (OOSC) that were enrolled in the Temporary Learning Space (TLS) established by Intercommunity Development Social Organization (IDS) with support from Street Child Nigeria/UNICEF, an European Union Education Support to Early Recovery and Resilience (EU-Borno) package intervention project in Education in Emergency (EiE) intervention Project. She said, attending the accelerated education programme (AEP) gave her hope to achieve her dream to be Nurse, as she can now read, write make simple additions, subtractions of numbers like other school Children.

She was excited when she received her certificate and since been mainstreamed to primary School. She is encouraging children who are OOSC in her community to take advantage of the opportunity to attend school like her. She said most of her friends are motivated by her achievements and are now enrolled in the TLS attending lessons to graduate and be mainstreamed into Formal School like her.
She said: ” thank you IDS and partners for the opportunity to acquire education like my Peers”.
